General Data Protection Regulation
To this end, just like any website, we collect IP addresses from people visiting the website. These are stored in log files. The log files are stored on the web server for five days so that they are available for the web statistics program Piwik. After that, the log files are kept for 90 days for security reasons only.
The Dutch Data Protection Authority has taken measures to limit the traceability of visitors to our website as much as possible. We do this by discarding the last octet (group of numbers) in each IP address immediately after importing the log files into Piwik. This is done in a temporary memory before the IP addresses are stored in Piwik.
- We collect the following data in Piwik:
- equipment and software used (devices, browsers, operating system)
- links used to reach our website
- links used within the website
Piwik retrieves this data from the web server's log files. These log files remain in the Piwik database for 31 days. They are then deleted. This leaves only an aggregated (merged) log file, which is used to produce an annual report on website visits.
We do not provide personal data to third parties unless this is necessary to report criminal offences.
Telecommunications Act – cookies for web statistics
In a general sense, websites must ask visitors for their consent before using cookies. The law makes an exception for cookies that are not privacy-sensitive, such as cookies that monitor visitor numbers.
No visitor's permission is required for cookies that do not infringe privacy or only to a limited extent. These are often cookies that are used to improve a website. Our analytical cookies also fall into this category.
